Situated
in a 5000 sq, ft greenhouse, complete with palm trees, banana trees
and other tropical plants whose flowers are the food of nearly 50 species
of tropical butterflies, the Arche des Papillons offers you a trip to
the tropics even in mid february to witness these tropical butterflies..
Most of these butterflies come from breeding farms in Costa Rica and l'Arche des Papillons uses biological methods to control ravages by introducing natural predators or parasites. If you visit in the morning, you will witness the awakening, the moment when of the butterflies emerges from their chrysalide. In the afternoon, there is more action, as butterflies are feeding and engage in complex mating rituals. Also, new from last year, colibris
